At the age of 88, he breathed his last in a private hospital in Mysore. According to close sources, he was admitted to the hospital on Friday night due to difficulty in breathing where he died. S Janaki had a vast career and served the music industry for more than 6 decades. The singer’s name was taken along with Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and M S Subbulakshmi. Singer sang more than 48000 songs in more than 20 languages during his career. In the South film industry and music world, she was called Swar Kokila. He also sang some songs in Hindi films.
