There was a lot of uproar after the case of theft of offerings in Ram temple came to light. After investigation by SIT, FIR was registered against 8 accused and they were arrested. Many questions were raised on the role of officials playing management roles in Ram Mandir Trust. Apart from this, irregularities were also encountered in the process of issuing VIP passes for the darshan of Ram Lalla. Allegations were also made that by issuing VIP passes, money was being collected from devotees for darshan of Ram Lalla.
VIP pass is a special entry system in Ram temple. Through this, some people are given the facility of darshan separately from the normal queue or with priority. These passes are usually for senior citizens, government officials, and special guests of the temple. It is also called Sugam Darshan Pass.
Till now who used to issue VIP passes for the darshan of Ramlala?
Till now, VIP darshan is passed through the ID of Trust General Secretary, Trust member Anil Mishra and special invitee member Gopal Rao. That means, only he had the authority to issue the pass. To understand in simple language, if the members of the trust issue VIP Darshan Pass directly in the name of a person from their digital account or recommendation letter. Then the people sitting at the pass counter used to issue passes by verifying the online requests received through this digital system or the documents bearing their stamp.

What changes did the Trust make in the system of issuing VIP passes?
- Champat Rai, Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao had the authority to issue VIP darshan passes.
- However, now this responsibility has been handed over to the trust member Mahant Dinendra Das.
- Champat Rai, Anil Mishra’s digital ID for issuing passes suspended
- A case of indiscriminate issuance of passes by misusing the digital ID of officials had come to light.
Who else except the authorized officer of the Trust can issue VIP pass?
VIP pass is made free in Ram temple. There is some arrangement for taking money for this. However, the SIT investigation has revealed irregularities in this also. VIP passes are issued only on the recommendation of authorized persons and as per pre-determined procedure. Apart from the authorized officer of the Trust, DM, SSP, DIG of Ayodhya can also issue this VIP pass. These four officers have got the facility of issuing 200-200 passes from the administration.
There is no fixed limit for issuing passes by the Trust. But according to the statements of the trust officials, 100 to 200 passes are issued daily from here. But the SIT investigation has also revealed that VIP passes were issued indiscriminately by misusing the digital IDs of trustees and senior officials. This is the reason that now by deactivating the credentials of Champat Rai, Gopal Rao and Anil Mishra, passes will be issued only on the ID of Dinendra Das.
