Shivalinga in Shri Sacha Akhileshwar Temple was established by Naga Sadhus. Years ago, during the construction of the temple, an 11.5 feet Shivlinga was installed here. Naga Sadhus were asked to establish Shivalinga of Mercury here for the welfare of the world. Then Baba 1009 Bhagat Ji Maharaj had installed Mercury Shivling near the 11.5 feet Shivling. Naga Sadhus had solidified Mercury with their spiritual power and established Shivalinga.
Mahapuja is done in 15 days
Silver coating is offered on Shivalinga in Shri Sacha Akhileshwar Temple of Rishikesh. Here, offering water on Shivalinga is not allowed. People offer flowers to Shivalinga here. Shivalinga is worshiped daily, but once in 15 days a Mahapuja is organized here. There is a tradition of offering flowers and sweets to Shivalinga during Mahapuja.
