
In Srinagar, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Tuesday paid tribute to Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee on the occasion of his 125th birth anniversary. During this, he said that Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was a leader who sacrificed his life for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Which can never be forgotten.
Addressing the gathering, Chugh said that June 23 is the day of sacrifice of Dr. Mukherjee. He advocated the complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of the country. That is why he is remembered. Tarun Chugh said that Dr. Mukherjee’s contribution is an important chapter in the history of the country. The BJP leader appealed to the Government of India to make public the archival records related to the arrest and detention of Dr. Mukherjee.
After all, under what circumstances was the arrest made?
He questioned under what legal rules Dr Mukherjee was arrested, under what circumstances he was detained, and why his medical records and the report of the inquiry committee were not made public. Chugh said that the country deserves answers about the incidents related to his death.
Mention of incidents of tribal attacks
Referring to the incidents of tribal attack on Jammu and Kashmir in 1947, Chugh alleged that this attack was supported by Pakistan and it caused massive suffering to the people there. He said that thousands of common people were killed, houses were looted, women were tortured and places of worship were attacked.
Demand to make public records and government documents
He demanded that historical records and government documents related to those incidents be made public so that future generations can understand the scale of this tragic incident. During his address, Chugh appealed to the youth to stay away from misuse of drugs and adopt a healthy lifestyle. He encouraged the youth to consume nutritious food like milk, ghee and lassi and play an active role in the development of the country.
