Rice will be cooked well, ladyfinger will not be sticky…follow 6 hacks related to cooking

June 19, 2026 by Uma Shankar

If you boil any green vegetable from green peas to spinach and after that its color starts getting dark, then to avoid this, add 1 teaspoon sugar in it while boiling. Apart from this, as soon as these vegetables boil, immediately take them out and put them in cold water.
If you want to prepare rice as a snack then add water only after measuring it according to the variety. If you feel that there is too much water then remove the extra water with the help of a ladle while it is boiling. Add this water to the flour and knead it. If you add a little lemon juice to rice, it will become delicious. Apart from this, you can also add a teaspoon of desi ghee during cooking so that the rice does not stick.
If there is too much salt or chilli in any vegetable, then to balance it, make a ball of flour and put it in the vegetable and bring it to a boil. This allows the flour to absorb extra spices. The second trick is to soak the bread in water and mix it in. Roasted gram or cashew-peanut paste also balances the salt and pepper. If it is a dry vegetable then you can add roasted gram flour to it or add lemon juice.
Sometimes it becomes sticky while cooking due to the gel coming out from inside the ladyfinger. To avoid this, after washing the ladyfinger, wipe it with a cloth and then cut it. Another way is to fry some gram flour and add it to ladyfinger. This also reduces its stickiness. A little lemon juice and dry mango powder help in reducing its moisture.
If you are troubled by tears coming out of your eyes while cutting onion, then the simple way is to peel the onion and cut off the top and bottom part and remove it. After this keep it in the refrigerator for some time. Now if you cut onion, tears will not come from your eyes.
