The rebellion in TMC has intensified after the West Bengal Assembly elections. TMC MP in Lok Sabha Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar resigned from all party posts, while two councilors Sushant Ghosh and Arup Chakraborty announced breaking ties with the party. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar on Wednesday resigned from all organizational posts of Trinamool Congress, days after publicly expressing his disappointment with the party leadership.
His decision came when he was the Chief Minister in Kalyani. Shubhendu Adhikari She attended the administrative review meeting, even though the party had reportedly instructed her not to attend it.
Shock to TMC due to Dastidar’s resignation
Dastidar was the national president of TMC’s women’s wing and was associated with the party’s Banga Janani programme. In a letter to TMC state president Subrata Bakshi, the four-time MP from Barasat resigned from all organizational posts in the party, sources said. She said that she has told the party that she will no longer be able to continue in this role.
After Monday’s administrative meeting, CM Adhikari claimed that the TMC MP had told him that he had finally got freedom. This further fueled the discussion in politics regarding his presence at the event.
Councilors Sushant and Arup also left TMC
On the other end, Trinamool councilors Sushant Ghosh and Arup Chakraborty also announced to leave TMC posts in Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Earlier, Devlina Biswas had resigned from the post of chairman and now Sushant and Arup have left the post.
Sushant Ghosh has resigned from the post of Chairman of Borough No. 12. Apart from this, Arup Chakraborty is leaving the post of ‘Municipal Accounts Committee’. However, according to sources, not only Devoleena-Arup or Sushant, but many more people can also resign.
Mamta Banerjee had a meeting with councilors on Tuesday. The Trinamool supremo had ordered him to work hard. However, the opposite happened the very next day and the councilors resigned.
