Why do youth not want to do Singham’s job?

A detailed study of the seven officers who have resigned in the last 14 months has revealed three major reasons. For example-

1. Nurul Hoda and Kamya Mishra of Bihar resigned due to political reasons. Nurul resigned in protest against the Waqf Board bill. Nurul entered politics after this. Similarly, Kamya Mishra is also trying to enter politics.

2. The case of Abhishek Tiwari of Madhya Pradesh is different. Tiwari left his post to go into cyber security business. While in police service, he spent most of his time investigating cyber cases.

3. Andhra IPS Siddharth Kaushal resigned to join a corporate job. Presently he is in Reliance Company. Similarly, Lokeshwar Singh of Uttarakhand resigned and went to the UN. He got a job there.

4. Odisha Congress President Bhakta Charan Das Said that the manner in which the resignation of young officers is taking place is questionable. The government should come forward and clarify the situation.

Can IPS officers resign?

Yes, there is a provision for this in All India Service Rules 1958. The central government accepts the resignation of these officers. Until the resignation is accepted, he has to remain in his post.

According to Service Rules 5(1), officers who resign do not get post-retirement benefits. However, if the state government wishes, it can give compassionate allowance to the officer.

Not only this, IPS officers are also given a chance to withdraw their resignation. If officers apply within 90 days, they can be reinstated in service. For this, only the old records of the officer are seen.
