10-day public display of holy relics
The International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) also confirmed the departure of the sacred relics of Lord Buddha’s chief disciples Arahant Sariputta and Arahant Mahamoggallana to Mongolia. With reverence, the sacred relics of the Buddha’s chief disciples Arahant Sariputta and Arahant Mahamoggallana left for Ganden for a 10-day public display, the IBC said in a post. The visit was undertaken by a special flight of the Indian Air Force from Palam Air Force Station, Delhi, to the monastery in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from 1 to 10 June 2026.
Exhibition will be inaugurated in Ganden Monastery
The exhibition will be inaugurated at Ganden Monastery in Ulaanbaatar and will be open to the general public from June 1 to June 10. Earlier on May 28, Madhya Pradesh Minister Prahlad Singh Patel had said that the holy relics were taken to Cambodia and Thailand, where lakhs of devotees visited, and now they are being taken to Mongolia.
