
There is a news of relief for the people of Mumbai. The indefinite strike of BEST employees has ended. The strike by the employees has been officially called off. This decision has been taken after an important meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister of the state Eknath Shinde. It is being told that many major demands of the employees were agreed upon in this meeting. After which BEST Employees Action Committee announced the withdrawal of its proposed strike.
Temporary salary increase of Rs 3,000
According to the information, an important meeting was organized under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde regarding strengthening the BEST enterprise and various demands of the employees. Many important decisions were taken in this meeting. It was decided in the meeting that the regular employees of BEST will be given a temporary salary increase of Rs 3,000 every month as interim relief. Along with this, it was decided to give a monthly temporary salary increase of Rs 2,000 per month to the waitlisted employees.
Payment of pending gratuity amount
Along with this, the pending gratuity amount of the employees will be paid in this financial year. Deputy Chief Minister Shinde directed the officials to immediately start the BEST bus service, which is called the lifeline of Mumbai, with full capacity. He stressed that strengthening the public transport system is the top priority of the government.
5000 new buses will be available
The government has decided to introduce 5,000 new buses on the roads of Mumbai in the next three years. Necessary financial provisions for this will be made in a phased manner. Also, the overhaul proposal prepared by the BEST administration will soon be presented before the state government for cabinet approval.

In this high level meeting held at Sahyadri Guest House, Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik, MLA Sachin Ahir, MLA Murji Patel, Additional Chief Secretary to Deputy Chief Minister Aseem Gupta, Principal Secretary Naveen Sona, Mumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ashwini Bhide, BEST General Manager Sonia Sethi and officials of BEST Employee Action Committee were present.
