Actually, recently the truth of one such actor has come to light, who was earning recognition in the film world by changing his name, but now he is in the custody of the police.
This is going to sound very strange, but a face has been making its mark in the film world for many years, who is a murderer in real life. We are talking about actor Spandan Modi, who has been seen in many Bollywood and South films. Spadan Modi’s real name is Hemant Nagindas Purushottam Das Modi, who is a resident of Gujarat. It is being told that Hemant is absconding since 2014 and the police was investigating him for 12 years.
Arrested in murder case
According to the report of TV9 Marathi, Hemant was arrested in the case of Narendra alias Nano Yashwant Kamble murder in 2005, after which he was sentenced three years later i.e. in 2008 after convicting him, his brother Sachin Modi and five other accused. According to Indian Express, after spending almost 6 years in jail, the Gujarat High Court granted parole to Hemant for 30 days on July 25, 2014. However, after being released on parole, Hemant never returned to jail and absconded.
Career in acting field
According to the information received from the police in this case, after absconding, Hemant first hid in Patna, after which he changed his name to Twinkle Mukund Dave and then went to Ahmedabad. During this time, he also worked in a private company in Ahmedabad, meanwhile he thought of making a career in the acting field and joined theatre. Within a few years, he came to Mumbai and made his mark in the film world by playing small roles.

Part of many big films
As soon as he entered the film world, he changed his name to Spandan Modi and worked not only in Bollywood but also in Gujarati and Malayalam films. The amazing thing is that he has worked in the films of big actors and now he is also a part of some upcoming films. Hemant worked with Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan in the film ‘Thugs of Hindostan’. He was also seen in Ranveer Singh and Boman Irani’s film ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’. Hemant was also a part of Aditya Roy Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan’s film ‘Metro In Dinon’.
Name in upcoming films
Apart from Bollywood, her role is also being said in Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s film ‘L2: Empuraan’. Accused Hemant was also associated with the upcoming films ‘Lahore 1947’ and ‘Tu Hai Meri Kiran’. According to the police, Hemant has acted in about 20 Gujarati films, several TV shows, web series ‘Taskari’ and 17 Gujarati plays, which include popular plays like ‘Yugpurush’ and ‘Gandhi vs Godse’.
Divorced his wife
Talking about family, Hemant did not maintain any connection with his family after absconding after getting parole. He even divorced his wife. After maintaining distance from the family and due to change in identity, it had become very difficult to find Hemant. Also, Hemant is not present on any social media platform. But in the year 2025, Hemant returned to Ahmedabad and was identified due to his appearance and physical structure, after which he was taken into custody. After interrogation, he has now accepted his real identity.
