After the ban on actor Ranveer Singh, some of his fans are playing big cards. A section of fans argue that Ranveer Singh has been punished for Dhurandhar being a blockbuster. Fans are saying that a conspiracy is being hatched against Ranveer. They are being prevented from working. However, FWICE’s chief advisor and film director Ashok Pandit has clarified that Ranveer Singh suddenly left the film just three weeks before the shooting of Don 3 started. Don 3 is being directed by Farhan Akhtar.
Ashok Pandit told that due to Ranveer’s step back, the producers i.e. Farhan Akhtar’s company Excel Entertainment and Ritesh Sidhwani suffered huge losses. He suffered a loss of Rs 45 crore due to leaving the film without any prior notice and reason. Technicians, cameramen and other people associated with the film were also affected. The shooting of the film had already been planned. They also suffered losses. Ranveer Singh was held responsible for this, after which ban action was taken.
Leaving Don 3 may prove to be Ranveer’s mistake
The issue of FWICE’s ban on Ranveer Singh is a subject of separate debate but the actor don 3 It is beyond comprehension to reject. Because leaving the Don franchise film could prove to be a big mistake for Ranveer Singh. Ranveer Singh has surely done a regrettable thing by rejecting the don with whom Amitabh Bachchan’s name is associated, the don with whom Shahrukh Khan’s name is associated. Ranveer Singh had a big opportunity to carry forward the legacy of Amitabh and Shahrukh in his own style and create history.
Ranveer got a chance after Amitabh and Shahrukh
There is no doubt that Ranveer Singh has become a big star after the success of Dhurandhar, but it is also true that when Amitabh Bachchan did Don, he too had blockbuster films like Deewaar etc. and an angry young man had emerged on the screen. Similarly, when Shahrukh Khan worked in Farhan Akhtar’s Don, before that King Khan had also achieved superstar status. But did not try to dominate the director. And when the film came on screen, it proved to be a superhit.
It is reported that Ranveer Singh did not like the script of Don 3. But he took this decision three weeks before the shooting started. There is also news that Ranveer did not like that Hrithik Roshan was initially going to be cast in Don 3, whereas after the success of Dhurandhar, director Farhan Akhtar thought of changing the actor. But even this thing is not acceptable. Is there some other pressure behind this?
Director’s authority over script and role
Ranveer Singh did not take into account that cinema is a directors’ medium. The director has the right to decide how the film will be made, what the script will be. Although the actor can give his suggestions if he wants, but cannot get it changed. Watch the films of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and see the actors like Dharmendra, Rajesh Khanna or Amitabh Bachchan working in those films. Rishi Da used to prepare scripts and whatever role he gave to the artist, even the biggest actors used to play it happily. It was a matter of pride to work in the films of directors like Rishi Da. It was a matter of great pride to be the lead actor of the Don sequel.
Reason for taking Ranveer instead of Hrithik
In fact, it should have been a matter of pride for Ranveer Singh that Hrithik was being replaced by him. Secondly, it is a common trend in the film industry that in a big budget film, only the hero is chosen whose recent film was a blockbuster. In 1978, when Amitabh Bachchan was made the hero of Don, there were actors like Vinod Khanna in front of him. But considering the box office trends, director Chandra Barot made Amitabh Bachchan the hero. Similarly, Farhan gave the lead role to Shahrukh Khan in the Don series in 2006 and 2011. Because at that time Shahrukh Khan’s magic worked at the box office. This is the common trend of the film industry.
When and on whom did FWICE take action?
Let us tell you that FWICE i.e. Federation of Western India Cine Employees has not taken such a big action against an actor for the first time. FWICE takes action from time to time regarding the discipline of artists in the film industry. Famous Punjabi film artist and singer Diljit Dosanjh also had to face the ban.
Diljit Dosanjh had cast Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his film Sardar Zee 3, after which action was taken against Diljit. Casting a Pakistani artist in his film was a violation of the guidelines set by the Indian government. The matter escalated considerably. FWICE also complained about expelling Farhan from Border 2.
In fact, after the Pulwama terrorist attack, a ban was imposed against Pakistani artists in Indian films. This was the reason why Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor’s film Abir Gulaal was also banned. Apart from Diljit Dosanjh, Mika Singh had violated the guidelines of the Government of India. In the year 2019, he had performed at a wedding ceremony in Karachi. Apart from this, after the terrorist attack in Uri, FWICE had banned all Pakistani actors including Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan from working in Indian films.
Appeal continues to find appropriate solution
However, Ranveer Singh’s case is not like the examples given above. Ranveer Singh is caught in the matter of not following discipline and breaking the contract midway. FWICE is an influential organization. Its ban has an effect. According to reports, Farhan Akhtar also asked Ranveer Singh to compensate for the loss but Ranveer Singh backed away from that too. There are many actors in the film industry like Manoj Bajpayee who have appealed to find a proper solution to this problem.
