June 3, 2026 by Uma Shankar

FWICE Vs Ranveer Singh: The controversy going on for the last few days regarding Bollywood’s ‘Dhurandhar’ Ranveer Singh has finally been resolved. Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has withdrawn the ban issued against Ranveer Singh with immediate effect. FWICE had taken this strict step against Ranveer Singh after he suddenly backed out from Farhan Akhtar’s film ‘Don 3’. After this decision, clouds of crisis started looming over Ranveer Singh’s career and his upcoming films. But now after the intervention and wisdom of the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA), this controversy has come to an end. However, some media reports have claimed that after Ranveer sent a legal notice to FWICE, this organization came on the backfoot. However, neither Ranveer nor FWICE has given any official confirmation regarding this notice.

This whole thing started when Ranveer Singh Decided to walk away from Farhan Akhtar’s film ‘Don 3’. This decision of Ranveer spread resentment among many people and organizations associated with the film. After this, on May 25, 2026, FWICE took a tough stand and issued a Non-Cooperation Directive (NCD) against Ranveer Singh. This simply meant that no technician, artist or worker would work with Ranveer Singh. After this directive, there was a stir in the entire industry because Ranveer Singh is an A-list actor of Bollywood and imposing such a ban on him could jeopardize the future of many big films.

How did IMPPA play a key role in resolving this big dispute?

When the matter escalated too much, the oldest and largest organization of film producers, ‘Indian Motion Picture Producers Association’ (IMPPA), entered the matter. IMPPA President Abhay Sinha took the initiative to resolve this dispute through dialogue. On 30 May 2026, IMPPA FWICE Chairman of B.N. Wrote a letter to Tiwari. In this letter he appealed that the film industry is a family and everyone’s existence here is interconnected with each other.

Abhay Sinha wrote that the survival and safety of the producer is most important for the industry, hence this matter should be resolved peacefully by sitting at a table. He requested FWICE to immediately lift this ban against Ranveer Singh and assured that they will take this issue seriously.

What did FWICE say in its official statement?

This appeal of IMPPA had a positive impact on FWICE. On June 1, 2026, FWICE, while replying to IMPPA’s letter, agreed that they were lifting this ban for the unity and dignity of the film industry. After this, today i.e. on June 3, 2026, FWICE made its formal announcement in the conference held in Mumbai.

FWICE said in its statement, “The Federation of Western India Cine Employees has always stood up to protect the rights and dignity of workers, technicians and artistes of the film industry. But it is also our responsibility to maintain peace, unity and brotherhood in the industry. Keeping in mind the timely intervention and guidance of IMPPA and its President Abhay Sinha, we withdraw the non-cooperation directive issued against Ranveer Singh with immediate effect.” Are.”

FWICE further said that they have always stood with what is right and will continue to raise their voice against any wrong behavior. But he also believes that mutual differences should be resolved through dialogue and responsibility rather than dispute.

Will this affect ‘Don 3’ and Ranveer Singh’s other projects?

After the lifting of this ban, Ranveer Singh’s fans and film makers have heaved a sigh of relief. If this dispute had dragged on, the shooting of many of Ranveer Singh’s upcoming films could have come to a halt, resulting in a loss of crores of rupees. But after this decision, now his other projects will be completed without any hindrance. IMPPA has also assured that they will work with all the parties involved in this matter to find a solution that is beneficial and fair for everyone.

FWICE came on back foot due to Ranveer’s notice?

However, it is also being discussed in a hushed voice that Ranveer Singh had sent a notice to FWICE against this alleged ban, due to which this ban has been withdrawn in collaboration with IMPPA. However, neither FWICE said anything regarding this notice in its press conference, nor has Ranveer’s team confirmed it.
