If the constitution of the trust says something like this then the biggest question is that on June 28, Govind Dev Giri Maharaj had issued a letter saying that Champat Rai and Anil Mishra had resigned. After that, in what capacity did Champat Rai remain in the Trust from 28th June to 6th July?
Along with this, there is talk of decorum and morality, in such a situation, if any kind of money has been stolen from the fund of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, then doesn’t the treasurer have any responsibility?
How did Treasurer Govind Dev Giri survive?
The treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra is Govind Dev Giri. About Rs 80 lakh was embezzled from the donations made in the temple, which has been recovered. In such a situation, it is a public fact that donations were being stolen. Despite knowing this truth, how is the treasurer safe? Can he avoid looking after the work of the trust fund only by staying from Pune?
The question is whether his duties as treasurer were discharged in the manner they should have been? If Anil Mishra had more interference in the financial matters of Govind Dev Giri when he was the treasurer, then why did he not make it public earlier.
Why was Gopal Rao removed?
Gopal Rao has been removed as a special invitee member of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra after the trust meeting. The question arises that he was responsible for the arrangements of the temple. On the basis of which allegations he was removed, it has not been told yet. What could Gopal Rao have influenced while in office that led to his removal?
Champat Rai hid the matter of donation theft
- June 5: While leaving the counting room of Passenger Facilitation Center, General Secretary Champat Rai conducted a surprise search of an employee, cash was recovered from him and on his instance, a large amount of cash was also found in the bathroom. After this, the Trust started its internal investigation and recovery, so that this information could not get out. However, TV9 Bharatvarsh has CCTV footage of the same date, in which theft of donation money was caught.
- June 7: Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav was the first to post on Twitter alleging that there was theft from the donation box and offerings of Ram temple. Local SP leader Pawan Pandey in a press conference said theft of Rs 5 to 7.5 crores.
- June 7: Champat Rai, General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, rejected these allegations outright and issued a clarification that the internal audit of the temple is going on, nothing noteworthy has come to light.
- June 9: Seeing the seriousness of the matter, BJP leader Dr. Rajneesh Singh wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding an investigation into this matter related to faith by an independent central agency like CBI or ED.
- June 9: After taking cognizance of the Prime Minister’s Office, on the instructions received from there, Chairman of the Temple Construction Committee, Nripendra Mishra immediately reached Ayodhya and held a meeting with the trustees and gathered information.
- Based on these dates, it seems that Champat Rai was aware of the theft but delayed reporting it to the police.
