Ram temple offering theft: SIT increased strictness on bank-trust, many irregularities found in audit, CA also questioned

The investigation of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has intensified in the case of theft of offerings in Ayodhya Ram Temple Trust. After serious flaws came to light in the audit, the SIT interrogated a dozen employees including the manager of SBI Bank at length and took the entire transaction records into its possession. Meanwhile, there is suddenly talk of temple construction assistant Gopal Rao going to Ayodhya, Delhi or Karnataka. But it has not been confirmed.

Many irregularities were found in the audit

According to sources, the SIT team reached the temple on Friday morning and interrogated Trust General Secretary Champat Rai and Anil Mishra in detail. The team asked for all the audit related documents and carefully scrutinized the documents provided. Many irregularities and shortcomings have been found in the audit conducted by the Trust.

The SIT is now investigating whether the audit was manipulated. The team is also verifying irregularities in financial transactions. There is discussion that cases of land buying and selling can also be included in the investigation, although officially at present the focus is only on theft of offerings and financial irregularities.

needle of suspicion on bank employees

SIT interrogated 10 employees including the manager of SBI Bank at length. Records of all bank transactions have been confiscated. Sources are saying that the role of 2 to 3 people seems suspicious. An important revelation has also come to light that a bank official is living on rent at the house of Anil Mishra of the Trust. Questions of collusion are being raised regarding this relationship. SIT is investigating whether it was negligence or a conspiracy. Now preparations are on to tighten the noose on bank employees.

Gopal Rao suddenly left Ayodhya

Amidst the investigation, Gopal Rao, the assistant involved in the construction of the temple, has left Ayodhya. There is talk of him going to Karnataka or Delhi. His sudden departure during SIT interrogation is raising many questions.

Meanwhile, changes were also made in the security arrangements. Under transfer SP Security Balramachari Dubey was relieved on Friday. In his place, PAC’s Vijay Shankar Mishra will take charge of SP security on Saturday. Vijay Shankar Mishra reached Ayodhya on Friday afternoon itself.

Three chartered accountants were also interrogated

The entire accounts of the trust are looked after by three chartered accountants. Chandan Rai of Bihar, Narpat Thopia and Akshay of Rajasthan, SIT has contacted these three and made audit related inquiries.
