Police have got important digital evidence in the investigation of Ram Temple offering theft case. Investigation has revealed that the accused formatted their mobile phones before their arrest and deleted WhatsApp chats, photos and videos, so that evidence related to the theft could be erased. However, the police have taken possession of all the mobile phones and will take help of forensic investigation. Now efforts are being made to recover the deleted data and find out how the stolen money was taken out and among which people it was distributed.
Who was the mastermind?
According to sources, many important digital clues have been found in the initial investigation of the mobile phones of the accused. Police claim that evidence has been found of conversations on WhatsApp regarding withdrawal of stolen money, its distribution and mutual coordination. Since open communication was not possible during the counting, the accused allegedly used to send instructions to each other through WhatsApp messages. Now forensic experts are also busy recovering deleted chats, photos and videos.
Investigation has also revealed that chat history and other data were deliberately deleted from many mobile phones. Police believe that the recovered digital data can reveal layers of the entire theft network. This electronic evidence will become an important basis for further investigation and investigation by SIT.
The police got this evidence
Police have also found some photos and videos in which the accused are seen partying together and with large amounts of cash. The investigating agencies fear that this could be the same amount which was distributed amongst themselves after allegedly being withdrawn from the offering.
On the other hand, the SIT investigating the case reached Ayodhya for the second consecutive day and interrogated the key officials of the trust for several hours. The team took possession of documents related to the audit and financial records of the offerings and sought answers on several points. Sources say that during the interrogation, satisfactory answers to many questions were not received, after which preparations are being made to further increase the scope of the investigation.
Police is not satisfied with the answers
According to sources, senior officials of the Trust are denying their direct role in the inquiry and putting the responsibility on Tinnu Yadav and Subhash Srivastava. However, both the SIT and the local police are not completely satisfied with their answers and many points are being matched with digital evidence.
Here, the local police has also intensified its criminal investigation. Interrogation is going on with the employees associated with the temple management, enumerators, private security personnel and other concerned people. Some employees have been made accused, while the role of bank employees is also being investigated. The police are analyzing the entire financial transactions and digital records with the help of chartered accountants and forensic experts. It is believed that after the data is recovered, the role of many more people in this case may be revealed and new arrests may also be made soon.
