There is a lot of resentment among the people regarding the theft and alleged embezzlement of Ram temple offerings in Ayodhya. Questions are continuously being raised regarding this matter. Opposition parties are accusing the state and central governments of continuously attacking and protecting the accused. Meanwhile, new revelations have come to light in the investigation of the case. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Tuesday (June 23) submitted its preliminary report to Additional Chief Secretary Home Sanjay Prasad. According to sources, serious questions have been raised in the report not only on the arrangements of the trust but also on the role of bank officials, employees and policemen associated with the security system.
Sources claim that SIT has found indications of suspicious role of some bank officers and employees during the investigation. In the SIT report, the possibility of collusion has also been raised in some cases. The investigation team found that there was a lack of monitoring at many levels in the management and deposit process of donation money, which was taken advantage of.
flaws in recruitment
According to the report, some recruitments done on the basis of the recommendations of the Trust have also been included among the major shortcomings. SIT believes that the system was weakened due to lack of adequate investigation and monitoring of personnel appointed on sensitive responsibilities.
questions on policemen
The biggest question that has been raised is that a large amount of money kept going out of the temple premises, but the policemen deployed on security duty were not even aware of it. In such a situation, the security arrangements and police vigilance have also come under scrutiny. The report states the need for a thorough investigation of this aspect.
SIT has given suggestions
According to sources, SIT has also given many corrective suggestions to make the donation management system completely transparent and accountable. These include reviewing the recruitment process, strengthening the donation counting system, increasing digital monitoring and fixing the accountability of the concerned employees.
Brainstorming on further action
After the preliminary report came out, discussions have started at the government level regarding further action. It is believed that based on the detailed investigation report, strict action can be taken against the people responsible. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has clearly said that strict action will be taken against whoever is guilty in this case.
