The scam in Ayodhya’s Ram temple is not just about the money offered, it is much bigger than that. There is also gold scam. The gold which devotees used to offer to Ramlala. There is no special arrangement regarding the gold offered in the temple, hence the devotees sometimes put this gold in the donation box and sometimes handed it over to the priests present there so that they could offer it to Ramlala. Now news is coming that there has been a scam in the gold offered also. If this is found true in the investigation then this gold scam could be worth crores. SIT is also interrogating this matter.
A few months ago, an agreement was signed between the Finance Ministry of the Government of India and the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL). It was decided in the agreement that a counter of SPMCIL would be built in the Ram temple. Devotees who need to donate gold or gold jewelery will donate it at the SPMCIL counter and will get a receipt in return. This agreement was made so that the accounts of the gold offered in the temple could be maintained. But sources say that SPMCIL could not get proper space in the temple and hence the counter could not be opened. This system is in place for calculating the gold donated in many big temples of the country. But even after the agreement between the Finance Ministry and SPMCIL, this system could not be implemented in the Ram temple of Ayodhya. Now the question is also whether SPMCIL was deliberately not given a place in the temple?
‘The plan was to make coins from the donated money’
Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL) works under the Ministry of Finance. Its job is to print Indian currency and manufacture coins. Along with this, this organization also prints high security documents like postal stamps and non-judicial stamp papers. There was a plan to make religious coins from the gold donated to the temple, which the devotees of Ramlala could buy. But there is no correct accounting of the gold offered to Ramlala. The devotees gave the offered gold to the priests and the priests handed it over to the staff who counted the offerings. The scam happened after that. There is news that the gold was not counted correctly and it was here that the gold was stolen.
Gold scam is worth crores. Along with cash, gold was also found from Tunnu Yadav’s house. To prevent fraud in gold, the Government of India had appointed Mint Corporation. But the people handling the work of the temple in Ayodhya chased away the officers of Mint Corporation. Now gold started coming from three places. People started putting gold in the donation box. Started offering it to the idol. Which should have reached the donation box through the priests. Some big people started leaving after giving it to Champat Rai. Champat Rai would give them to Tunnu Yadav and Tunnu would photograph them and deposit them in the bank. There is no investigation as to how much came and how much was deposited in the bank. If everything was collected then how would the gold be found in Tunnu’s house. Now SIT is also investigating the gold.
