The party high command held a meeting with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar on Tuesday at the Congress headquarters in Delhi. After this, Rahul Gandhi talked to both the leaders separately. According to sources, Rahul Gandhi will take the decision to change the CM in Karnataka. It is believed that Rahul will meet Siddaramaiah again soon.
On Tuesday, after concluding the discussion on Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council seats of Karnataka, Rahul Gandhi spoke separately to Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar. On the request of in-charge Randeep Surjewala, Rahul has spoken to both the leaders. According to sources, if Rahul Gandhi decides to change the CM, he will talk to Siddha again in the next few days. It is being told that if Siddha agrees, then her son can be given cabinet and the department of his choice and Siddha can be given Rajya Sabha along with a bigger role in the Centre.
No concrete results have been found so far
It is being said that if Siddha agrees then he will have to immediately decide in which role he wants to play. If they want Rajya Sabha, then a decision will have to be taken soon otherwise the decision can be taken even after the elections. At present no concrete result has been achieved, it is time to change the Chief Minister. It’s been six months more than two and a half years. Therefore, the option of changing the Chief Minister is always open but the final decision has not been taken.
The responsibility of convincing Siddaramaiah is on Rahul
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is to visit Rajya Sabha. Apart from this, the remaining two names were also discussed. Besides, discussion on many names for Legislative Council seats has also been completed. This means clearly that the decision to change the CM can be taken only after another round of talks with Rahul Gandhi’s Siddha (possible over telephone also). DK lottery can be held only after this, so now all eyes are on Rahul Gandhi to see what decision he takes.
Given Siddha’s stature, her image as a public leader and the support of the MLAs, decisions cannot be taken against her wishes, that is why this responsibility has been assigned to Rahul Gandhi.
