
Kangana Ranaut Queen 2 Controversy: A sequel to Kangana Ranaut’s 2013 superhit film ‘Queen’ is being made, about which there is a huge buzz among the fans. Recently Kangana Ranaut completed the shooting of ‘Queen 2’. But even before its release, this film is embroiled in a big legal dispute. Kangana’s ‘Queen 2’ is stuck in a case of Rs 250 crore. It is reported that a case has been filed against this film in the Bombay High Court demanding damages of Rs 250 crore. It is alleged that this is a sequel of the original film ‘Queen’ made without permission, due to which questions have been raised on it.

Even before the release of the sequel, controversy seems to be arising over it. Actually, Phantom Studios, the makers of ‘Queen’, have approached the Bombay High Court and the reason for this is copyright dispute.
Legal dispute over Kangana’s ‘Queen 2’
Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Queen 2’ is stuck in legal trouble. According to the latest report, Phantom Studios, the original makers of ‘Queen’, have accused JioStar of unauthorized use and violation of Intellectual Property (IP), that is, the original makers have filed a case of Rs 250 crore against Jio Star, the production house supporting ‘Queen 2’, of making an unauthorized sequel. It is being told that many attempts were made to resolve this matter outside the court, but when things did not work out, the matter reached the Bombay High Court. At present, the makers of ‘Queen 2’ have not given any reaction on these allegations. This matter came to light after the shooting of the film was completed.

Geostar’s reaction
According to a report in Mid-Day, Phantom Studios claimed that ‘Queen 2’ is an unauthorized sequel. Before filing the case, Phantom Studios tried to negotiate a settlement several times. But only after there was no response from JioStar, Phantom Studios filed an infringement case against them. If sources are to be believed, before taking this step, Phantom Studios had issued a public notice and had also sent information to Vikas-JioStar several times. However, after receiving no response from Sammans and getting information that the shooting of ‘Queen 2’ has been completed, Phantom Studios decided to take the legal route.
Public notice was issued in April
In the same report, it was further told that Phantom Studio had issued a public notice in April and confirmed its ownership of 50 percent of the IP of ‘Queen’ (which also includes the rights to make sequels). But ignoring this public notice, Jiostar continued shooting the film. After the completion of the shooting, this project has now gone into the post-production stage before its theatrical release. The makers have not announced any release date yet.
