
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that Punjab is emerging as a preferred destination for government jobs. Even the youth who went abroad are now returning to the state to get employment through the government’s transparent and merit-based recruitment policy. Handing over appointment letters to 665 candidates in Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), the Chief Minister said that the state has created a record by providing 68268 government jobs in just four and a half years, thereby completely ending the era of taking jobs through bribes or recommendations.
Chief Minister Honor appealed to the Punjabis working abroad to return to their motherland and assured them that they would be provided regular employment opportunities by the state government and would be made active partners in the socio-economic progress of Punjab. He said that the transparent recruitment process adopted by the government has restored the faith of the youth in the system and the youth who had gone abroad have now started returning to the country.
bright future for youth
The Chief Minister said that “At the appointment letter distribution ceremony in Bathinda, several major decisions were shared aimed at the progress of Punjab and securing a bright future for its youth. By completely eliminating the corrupt practices of bribery and recommendations adopted by the previous governments, your government has so far given 68268 government jobs to the youth on the basis of merit. Due to this transparent recruitment policy, even the youth who had gone abroad are now coming back to Punjab.”
The Chief Minister said, “Due to the historic reforms in the education sector, Punjab has today emerged as the leading state in the country in school education. Another major decision aimed at the welfare of government employees, especially women employees, was announced that after the completion of their probation period, they will be posted within a radius of 40 kilometers of their homes so that they can balance family and work life.”
Control on bribery-CM Mann
The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that the state government has provided about 68268 government jobs to the youth of Punjab. He said, “The era of bribery and nepotism is over in Punjab. Now the youth of Punjab are getting government jobs only on the basis of merit and qualification and not a single appointment has been challenged in the court due to the transparent recruitment process adopted by the state government.”
He further said that our government has upgraded primary and middle school education, strengthened the system, introduced smart classes and provided advanced training to teachers. As a result of these efforts, Punjab is performing excellently in the field of school education. Data released by the Commission (National Institution for Transforming India), one of the premier institutions of the Government of India, shows that Punjab has taken the leading position in primary and middle school education, leaving behind Kerala, Maharashtra and Delhi.
