Punjab Inspector was extorting money from American family, photo with Goldie Brar printed in wanted poster

Officials of America’s intelligence agency FBI have accused Punjab Inspector Gurinderjit Singh of extorting 4 lakh dollars (about 4 crore Indian rupees) from an American family. The FBI says that Gurinderjit Singh demanded $4 lakh from the family of a person living in Los Angeles. Gurinderjit threatened that if the money was not given, a murder case would be filed against his relatives living in Punjab. Punjab Police has not made any official comment on this allegation of FBI.

According to Shiromani Akali Dal General Secretary Vikram Majithia, the full name of Gurinderjit Singh is Gurinderjit Singh Nagra. This case took place when Gurinderjit was in-charge of the police station in Tanda of Hoshiarpur district. Majithia says that Gurinderjit allegedly named the relatives of the American family in a murder case for not paying the extortion money.

Meanwhile, US federal officials say that Gurinderjit Singh committed the crime in collaboration with members of an organized crime group named Jaggu Bhagwanpuria.
