Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Sarpanch Satpal Singh Minta was brutally murdered outside his house on Tuesday (July 21) night in Hoshiarpur, Punjab. It is being told that the youth first fought over car parking and then started attacking with swords. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of tension in the entire area. Police have started investigating the case and are searching for the accused.
The matter is of Anandgarh village near Hoshiarpur. The deceased’s son Rahul told that some time ago there was a fight between some youths of a nearby village. At that time, Sarpanch Satpal Singh Minta intervened and made a compromise between the two parties. The family says that keeping in mind the resentment over this agreement, some youth targeted the Sarpanch on Tuesday.
First crushed by car and then attacked
Family members told that the attackers first hit the Sarpanch two-three times with their car and ran them over him, after which he was repeatedly attacked with sharp weapons, in which he got seriously injured. When the sarpanch’s son Rahul started taking his injured father to the hospital, youths coming in a Balero car blocked his way and tried to attack the family. Somehow the family saved their lives and left from there, but by then the father died.
Police engaged in investigation of the case
As soon as information about the incident was received, the police team reached the spot, took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem. Police are collecting evidence from the incident site and further legal action is being taken based on the statements of the family. At present the police has started searching for the accused. This incident has spread tension in the entire area, while the villagers have demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and strict punishment. There is mourning in the family due to this incident.
