While on one hand the political parties in Punjab are busy preparing for the assembly elections, on the other hand the ongoing internal tussle in the state Congress is not showing any signs of stopping. There is an uproar in the party regarding change of leadership. Meanwhile, Congress MP from Gurdaspur Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has also come out openly in support of former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi.
According to the information, Charanjit Singh Channi- Sukhjinder Randhawa faction has decided that until Amarinder Singh Raja Wadding is removed from the post of Punjab Congress President, they will not attend any such program of Punjab Congress where Amarinder Singh Raja Wadding will be present as Punjab Congress President.
Will put the matter before the high command
According to sources, former cabinet minister and MLA Pargat Singh along with some other MLAs have left for Delhi to convey the message of the leaders of Channi-Randhawa faction to the high command. Despite state in-charge Bhupesh Baghel coming to Chandigarh and trying to resolve the entire dispute, the Channi-Randhawa faction sending its leaders to the high command is being considered a big step.

‘Sacrifice is expected in the interest of the country’
On the other hand, Congress MP from Patiala Dr. Dharamveer Gandhi also made such comments on social media without naming anyone, which is being linked to the party leadership and the current controversy. He wrote that sacrifices and sacrifices are expected from Congress leaders in the interest of democracy, Constitution, Punjab and the country.
Discussion regarding change of leadership
This comment of Dr. Dharamveer Gandhi has come at a time when there is continuous discussion about change of leadership in Punjab Congress. Although the Congress high command has decided to retain Raja Vading as the state president for the time being, it is being said that former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi is not satisfied with this decision.
Channi’s meeting with Congress leaders
According to sources, Channi had held a meeting with about 65 Congress leaders at his Morinda residence last Friday, in which the current situation of the party and organizational changes were discussed. On the other hand, Raja Vading is also in constant touch with his supporting leaders and is trying to strengthen his hold in the organization. The increasing factionalism in Punjab Congress has raised questions on the unity of the party.
