Punjab Congress: Bhupesh Baghel handed over responsibility to 3 working presidents, big message to Channi group

Amidst the ongoing internal strife in Punjab Congress, in-charge Bhupesh Baghel has formally handed over the responsibilities to three working presidents as part of the organizational change. This order, issued in the atmosphere of resentment of former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, is being considered an important step towards implementing the decisions of the high command within the organization.

According to the order issued by Bhupesh Baghel, three working presidents appointed along with State President Amarinder Singh Raja Wading, Sukhwinder Singh Danny, Sangat Singh Giljian and Rajkumar Verka, have been given the responsibility of different zones. It has been said in the order that these three leaders will coordinate the functioning of the organization, frontal organizations and various departments in their respective areas with the help of the respective AICC secretaries.

Sukhwinder Singh is also in charge of Youth Congress.

According to the order, Sukhwinder Singh Danny has been made in-charge of Zone-1. The assembly seats of Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr and Rupnagar districts will come under his jurisdiction. Apart from this, he has also been entrusted with organizational responsibilities related to Youth Congress, NSUI and Trade Congress.

Sangat Singh also got the responsibility

Punjab Working President Sangat Singh Giljian has been appointed in-charge of Zone-2. His area of ​​work includes Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Moga, Firozpur, Fazilka, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Faridkot and Bathinda districts. He has also been entrusted with the responsibility of coordinating with Seva Dal, SC Cell, Minority Cell, Kisan Congress and INTUC.

Rajkumar Verka gets the responsibility of Zone-3

Rajkumar Verka has been given the responsibility of Zone-3. Assembly seats of Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, Khanna, Mansa, Sangrur, Barnala and Patiala districts will come under his jurisdiction. Additionally, he will oversee the functioning of Mahila Congress, OBC Cell and Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Organization. It has been clarified in the order that the three working presidents will oversee the organizational activities as per the pre-decided roles of the AICC secretaries, which will facilitate the implementation of the new organizational structure of Punjab Congress at the grassroots level.

Sangat Singh did not meet Baghel

Meanwhile, an important political development is that acting president Sangat Singh Giljian, who is considered close to the Channi-Randhawa faction. He has not met Bhupesh Baghel yet. Despite this, their responsibilities have also been fixed in the order issued. This is being seen as a clear message from the party leadership that the party high command stands firm on its organizational decisions, no matter how much internal discontent there is.
