Punjab: Channi-Randhawa’s harsh attitude continues, after Baghel’s meeting remained inconclusive, now the high command will mend the rift!

July 11, 2026 by Uma Shankar

To resolve the ongoing dispute in Punjab Congress, Channi-Randhawa faction held a meeting with Bhupesh Baghel. He clearly said in the meeting that the dispute can be resolved only on two conditions. Amarinder Singh Raja Wadding should be removed from the post of Punjab Congress President, or the entire election should be fought by making Charanjit Singh Channi the Chief Minister face and Channi’s opinion should also be given importance while distributing tickets.

According to sources, Bhupesh Baghel has expressed disagreement on both the conditions and said that only the high command can decide all this and he does not have such powers. They can only convey the opinion of the rebel group to the high command, after which only the high command can take a decision on such demands.

‘Everyone is united’

Bhupesh Baghel says that I met and talked to all my colleagues. He shared his opinion with me. Everyone agrees that the party should follow the decision of the High Command. There is no objection in this. Everyone is united. Our colleagues raised some issues. I assured all of them that as the general secretary in-charge, I will protect everyone’s interests. If there is a candidate who is eligible and has the potential to win, then he will definitely be given the ticket. I have given him this assurance. “Our comrades have raised some concerns, and I will convey all of them to the party high command.”

Baghel returned to Raipur

Punjab Congress in-charge Bhupesh Baghel has informed through social media that he is returning back to Raipur by 2:45 pm flight. According to sources, the harsh attitude of Channi and Randhawa remained intact in the meeting of Channi-Randhawa faction with Bhupesh Baghel. If there is no hope of reaching any decision, now the entire dispute will be sent to the high command.

Raja Vading seemed indifferent to the whole controversy. Sitting in his car, he said that I am eating Churi comfortably. My mother has prepared me and I was not supposed to go to the meeting. It is not necessary that today’s meeting should be with the head. There is complete unity and this meeting is also being held for the unity of Congress. The others (Channi-Randhawa group) are talking to Bhupesh Baghel, so I am not going to this meeting myself. Next maybe you want to do your thing in private.
