Puja Bhog Rules: Is it auspicious to offer fruits with seeds to God during puja? Know what the scriptures say

July 19, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Fruit Bhog in Puja: Offering food during worship is considered very important. It is said that God is pleased by offering food during worship. Offering food shows reverence and faith in God. Worship of God is not considered complete without offering food. Fruits, sweets, kheer etc. are offered to God in worship, but often devotees remain confused while offering fruits as to which fruits are auspicious to offer to God. Also how to feed it to them?

Today we are going to tell you whether fruits with seeds should be offered to God or not. We will also know whether fruits with seeds are auspicious or inauspicious for consumption. Let us know in detail about all the rules of Bhog.

Do not offer fruits with seeds

It is said in the scriptures of Sanatan Dharma that offering fruits in worship is virtuous and good. Seasonal fruits should be offered to God. It is best to do this. Fruits with seeds can also be used in worship, but they should be fed to God in the same way as you consume these fruits. Fruits should never be offered to God along with seeds.

If the seeds of the fruit are big like mango, watermelon etc. then remove them. After this offer food to God. There is nothing wrong in offering fruits with seeds to God. Just keep in mind that God is also like a child. In such a situation, just as you feed children after seeing everything, similarly offer food to God also. Serve God according to the rules.

Pay special attention to these things

Before offering, wash the fruit thoroughly with pure water. Then cut those fruits to enjoy. Do not include pre-cut fruits in the offering. Be sure to include Tulsi in the offerings. Have full faith while offering food to God. While offering food, do not keep ego in your mind and meditate on God.
