
Adani Energy Solutions, an Adani Group company, has announced excellent results for the first quarter (April-June) of the financial year 2026-27. The company’s net profit increased by 124% compared to last year to Rs 1,149 crore. Last year, in the same quarter, the company had earned a profit of about Rs 513 crore. After the announcement of quarterly results, Adani Energy Solutions shares rose by about 3% and reached Rs 1,781.20 during afternoon trading on NSE.
Not only profit, the company also saw a tremendous increase in revenue. The company’s income from operations increased by 42% to Rs 9,711 crore in the April-June quarter, compared to Rs 6,819 crore in the same period last year. If compared with the previous quarter (January-March), the company’s income increased from Rs 7,443 crore to Rs 9,711 crore. In the last quarter, net profit also increased from Rs 723 crore to Rs 1,149 crore.
The company’s EBITDA increased by 30% to Rs 3,008 crore, from Rs 2,314.5 crore a year ago. However, EBITDA margin declined to 31% from 33.9% last year. The company recorded regulatory deferral income of Rs 29 crore in this quarter, whereas regulatory deferral expense of Rs 504 crore was incurred in the same quarter last year.
Expenses also increased, but earnings more than that
The company’s total expenses increased to Rs 8,440 crore in this quarter, which was Rs 5,864 crore last year. The main reason for this was the cost of purchasing electricity and increased expenditure on construction works. The cost of purchasing power increased from Rs 1,724 crore to Rs 3,561 crore. Expenditure on construction works increased from Rs 1,742 crore to Rs 2,138 crore. Finance cost increased from Rs 894 crore to Rs 1,152 crore. Tax expenditure also increased from Rs 117 crore to Rs 156 crore. However, despite increasing expenses, the company recorded strong earnings.
Which businesses performed best?
- Income of transmission (electricity transmission) business increased by 52.4% to Rs 3,335.3 crore.
- Income of distribution (electricity distribution) business increased by 5% to Rs 3,520.4 crore.
- Smart meter business registered the fastest growth. Its income increased from Rs 112 crore to Rs 346.9 crore, an increase of more than 200%.
- At the same time, there was a huge jump in the income from the Energy Solutions Platform. The income of this business increased more than 9 times to Rs 1,906.8 crore. This figure is for the quarter ending June 30.
