
Pahlaj Nihalani: Well-known Bollywood film producer and former chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Pahlaj Nihalani, has passed away. At the age of 76, he has said goodbye to the world. His former partner Shashi Shekhar has confirmed the news. Pahlaj Nihalani was continuously ill for a long time. He was admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Vile Parle, Mumbai, where he was undergoing treatment. He was brought back home from the hospital a few days ago. Now he breathed his last at home.
As soon as the news of Pahlaj Nihalani’s death was received, there is mourning in the entire film industry and his close ones. Actually, he was ill for a long time and had himself told about being admitted to the hospital.
I vomited blood a few days ago
Some time ago, while talking to an English website, he gave his health update. He was seen telling that at 3 o’clock in the night he suddenly felt restless and vomited blood, after which he was admitted to the hospital. However, at that time his health deteriorated due to chronic food poisoning. Due to which he was admitted in ICU for 5-6 days.
Nihalani was hospitalized for 28 days
Pahlaj Nihalani was discharged from Nanavati Hospital a few days ago. He remained admitted in the hospital for 28 days. The producer himself had told that Shatrughan Sinha had gone to meet him during his treatment in the hospital. Also wanted to know about his well being. However, he kept this meeting private. No one had much information about this.
Created a stir at the box office in the 90s
Pahlaj Nihalani’s name needs no introduction in Hindi commercial cinema. Especially in the 80s and 90s, he understood the mood of the box office very well and gave many hit films one after another. He produced blockbuster films like ‘Ilzaam’, ‘Aag Hi Aag’ and ‘Shola Aur Shabnam’. His film ‘Aankhen’ starring Govinda and Chunky Pandey, released in 1993, had broken all the records of success. This film proved to be the biggest blockbuster of that era.
