In this session both the leaders were sitting next to each other. Let us tell you, a full bilateral conversation is to be held between the two leaders tomorrow at 6.30 pm (IST) on the sidelines of the G7 summit.
This brief conversation between the two leaders took place when leaders from around the world have gathered for an event organized by French President Emmanuel Macron. This was the first face-to-face between the two leaders since Trump started his second term after the Prime Minister’s visit to Washington in February 2025. This conversation is taking place at an important time for India-US relations. These relations have been strained in recent months due to ‘Operation Vermillion’ and the Trump administration’s decision to impose heavy tariffs on Indian imports.
