Talks are going on between America and Iran regarding the peace agreement, but sometimes due to rhetoric, a tense situation is also being created. US President Donald Trump once again took strict action against Iran and said that if Tehran does not allow nuclear inspection by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in his country, then he will cancel the meetings held under technical talks with Iran.
In Pennsylvania, President Trump said on Tuesday that Washington had been assured about inspection access as part of ongoing negotiations between the two sides. Trump dismissed concerns raised about Iran’s stance on inspections. Talks are going on between the two countries for permanent peace.
They are wrong, wrong, wrong: Trump
Responding to questions about the deployment of United Nations (UN) nuclear monitoring inspectors under the agreement, President Trump stressed that Iran has already agreed in principle. He said, “They are wrong. They are wrong. They are wrong. They know they are wrong. They told us internally and we have 100 percent solid information to verify. And if they are right, I would have canceled the meetings right now.”
Asked about the timeline for the inspection, the US President said, “At the right time. There is no rush, but they will be there at the right time.” He further claimed that negotiations with Iran are progressing and indicated that Tehran’s position has become very weak at this time.
They are badly broken: Trump
Regarding talks with Iran, he said, “We are doing a very good job with Iran. They have been badly weakened, and we are making an agreement with them, and we will see how everything progresses.” Trump also mentioned the incidents related to the supply of oil and gas from the Strait of Hormuz. He claimed that after the initial round of technical talks between the two sides, there has been a major disruption in the movement of oil. The talks started in Switzerland under a 14-point Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was aimed at ending tensions in the region.
President Trump said, “As you may have heard yesterday, 19 barrels of oil were stopped, and this is the largest incident in the history of the Strait of Hormuz.”
Iran is weak now: Trump
Reiterating the US administration’s stance on Iran’s nuclear ambitions, President Trump said, “The most important thing is that Iran will not have nuclear weapons.” Citing Iran’s military capabilities, Trump also claimed that Iran is in a very weak position strategically.
He said, “We have brought Iran to a situation which no one had ever been able to bring before. This work should have been done by other presidents 47 years ago. Now we have brought Iran to such a situation where their army has been completely destroyed. Their leadership has also been destroyed. The condition is that their radar system has also been destroyed.”
Regarding the economic agreement, President Trump said that Iran’s humanitarian needs will also be taken full care of in any possible economic agreement. He said, “The money that will be taken from Iran will be given to our farmers so that they can send corn, soybean and wheat etc. to Iran, because there is a big problem of starvation, food and medicines there.” After the talks in Switzerland, diplomatic discussions are going on between Washington and Tehran regarding nuclear inspection, relaxation of sanctions and regional security arrangements.
