The way for the construction of a new and grand assembly complex in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, has now been completely cleared. Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has issued a tender for this hi-tech Vidhan Bhavan complex to be built on the land of Sahara city located in Gomti Nagar. Besides, the process of selecting consultant and architect for the project has also been started.
LDA Vice President Prathamesh Kumar confirmed the issue of tender and said that interested companies will be able to apply from May 23 to June 21. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the project will be prepared only after the selection of the consultant and architect. On the basis of this DPR, the cost, construction period and other technical aspects of the new assembly will be determined.
In government documents, this project has been named Vidhan Bhavan Complex. This huge administrative hub will be developed on about 245 acres of land. In this, about 170 acres of land will belong to Lucknow Municipal Corporation, while about 75 acres of land is said to be owned by LDA.
The campus will be equipped with modern facilities
Along with the new assembly, a modern secretariat, Chief Minister’s residence complex and offices of many important government departments will also be established here. The government plans to make this entire area the biggest administrative and power center of Uttar Pradesh. It is believed that in future most of the major decisions, high level meetings and VIP movements of the state government will be conducted from this complex.
Preparations regarding the project have also been intensified at the administrative level. With the construction of the new Vidhan Bhavan Complex, Uttar Pradesh is going to get a new power center equipped with modern facilities, which will play an important role in making the administrative system of the state more organized and hi-tech.
Government’s plan gained momentum from the survey
The survey conducted in November last year has given impetus to the government’s plan. Actually, the Uttar Pradesh government needed about 200 acres of land to build a new, modern and big legislative building as per the future needs. On the instructions of the government, LDA conducted a detailed survey of the vacant land of Sahara city in November 2025.
The survey found that about 245 acres of land is available here, more than the government’s requirement, which is linked to wide roads and better infrastructure. After this, LDA sent its proposal to the government, which was approved. Now with the release of the tender, the process of starting work on this big and modern project of UP has intensified.
