Prashant Kishore left his house, camped in the ashram…will remain here till the next Bihar elections

May 21, 2026 by Uma Shankar

After the crushing defeat in the assembly elections in Bihar, Prashant Kishore has now changed his residence. Now he has shifted to an ashram. On completion of 6 months of NDA government in Bihar, Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant told that he has gone to an ashram located on the outskirts of Patna. He will continue his political activities from here until his new party makes its place in the next assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters in Darbhanga, 48-year-old political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishore said that he came out of his previous residence in Patna on Tuesday night. He said, “On Tuesday night I came out of the place in Patna where I was staying till now.”

‘The party will establish its identity by the next elections’

He said, “‘Bihar Navnirman Ashram’ located near IIT Patna will be my new home. I will stay here till the next assembly elections are held in Bihar and hopefully by then Jan Suraj Party will have left its mark.”

I-PAC’s co-founder Prashant Kishore i.e. PK left the job of political consultancy and formed Jan Suraj Party two years ago in 2024. Till now he was running his business from ‘Shekhpura House’ only. This is a huge bungalow located near Patna Airport, which is the family property of the party’s national president and former BJP MP Uday Singh.

Couldn’t stop migration, migrated myself: PK

Uday Singh belongs to a strong political family. His elder brother, N.K. Singh is a former Rajya Sabha MP and chairman of the 15th Finance Commission. At the same time, his late mother Madhuri Singh was a senior Congress leader and was also elected MP from Purnia several times.

Former vice president of Janata Dal United (JDU) Kishore also launched a scathing attack on former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Nitish Kumar resigned from the post of Chief Minister last month and entered the Rajya Sabha. The Jan Suraj leader said, “The person who was elected Chief Minister after the elections completely failed to stop the migration due to the economic crisis. Instead, he himself chose the path of migration. But before doing so, he decided that his son should get a place in power.”

Prashant Kishor was referring to Nishant Kumar, son of the then Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who has now become a part of the NDA coalition government led by Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary.

CM Samrat is spending wastefully: Prashant Kishore

He also appealed to the voters of Bihar to give priority to their own interests instead of voting on the basis of caste, religion or greed for money. He said, “People of Bihar should think about the future of their children while casting their vote. They should not be misled by leaders like PM Narendra Modi, Nitish Kumar or Lalu Prasad, nor should they sell their vote for Rs 10,000.”

This comment was seen in the context of the ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana’ launched before the assembly elections, under which more than 1.5 crore women were given Rs 10,000 each.

Prashant Kishor also criticized Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary over government expenditure, and alleged that despite Bihar being one of the poorest states in the country, there is a lot of wasteful expenditure.

He says, “Bihar is the poorest state in the country, but the Chief Minister lives in a 25-acre residence. Just imagine how much it would cost to maintain its gardens. We also hear that he is planning to make this complex even bigger, for which he will merge the bungalow in which he lived as the Deputy Chief Minister with the Chief Minister’s residence.”
