Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had alleged that BJP is trying to buy the MLAs of his party (National Conference) by paying them. BJP has called this allegation baseless. He said that this allegation is completely irresponsible. BJP national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said that either Omar Abdullah should show concrete evidence, or apologize for this.
He said that Omar Abdullah is making these false allegations to hide the failures of his government. He said that the talk of ‘poaching’ (poaching of MLAs) is actually a deliberate attempt to divert people’s attention from the poor functioning of the present government. He said, “The reality is that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has made this baseless allegation to hide the failure, inaction and misgovernance of his government in Jammu and Kashmir and to divert attention from these issues. He said that in such a situation he should give evidence or apologize for his statement.”
‘Focus on work, not allegations’
Sudhanshu Trivedi advised the National Conference leaders to stay away from political allegations and counter-allegations and focus on their administrative responsibilities. He said, “National Conference Party and Omar Abdullah should not make such baseless allegations to avenge their failure and they should concentrate on their work instead of allegations.”
‘What allegation did CM Omar make?’
In fact, without disclosing his name, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah claimed on Saturday that BJP had tried to break a Jammu and Kashmir National Conference MLA by luring him with Rs 20-30 crore and a ministerial post to switch sides.
Abdullah said that that MLA rejected BJP’s proposal and informed me about it. “A senior BJP official, who is also a Supreme Court lawyer, told one of my MLAs in a closed room – ‘We will give you Rs 20 to 30 crore, a ministerial post and statehood. You come with us.’ Do they think the trust of our people is so cheap?”
Deputy CM Surendra Chaudhary fully supported Omar Abdullah’s allegations. He said that the entire politics of BJP is based on lies.” BJP never told the truth. Their entire work is based on lies. Came to power by lying in 2014, then did the same in 2019 and 2024. Omar Abdullah does not lie. They first investigate the whole thing and only then say something.
