Friday, June 19, is going to be a very busy and politically important day in Mumbai. Shiv Sena’s 60th Foundation Day will be celebrated at two different places on Friday. On one hand, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena is organizing a grand program at Nesco Center in Goregaon, while on the other hand, the foundation day celebration of Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) will be held at Shanmukhananda Auditorium in Sion.
Deputy Chief Minister in the program organized at Nesco Center in Goregaon Eknath ShindeMPs, MLAs, party officials and a large number of workers from across the state are likely to participate. It is being claimed that about 30 thousand people will gather in the program.
Eye on six rebel MPs of UBT
The biggest attraction of this program is considered to be the six MPs who separated from the Uddhav Thackeray faction. According to sources, these MPs have formed their own separate parliamentary group and a formal announcement of their joining Shinde Shiv Sena can be made from the foundation day platform.
Although this has not been officially confirmed by the party yet, but sources are saying that if there are no legal and technical hurdles, Shinde Sena is planning to bring these six MPs on the stage on this very foundation day.
According to sources, these six MPs have been accommodated in a hotel located near Nesco Centre, which has given further strength to the discussions about their participation in the program. In view of the possibility of rain, the Foundation Day function is being organized in the air conditioned indoor hall of Nesco. Heavy police arrangements have been made at the venue and huge hoardings and cutouts have been installed in the area.
Uddhav Thackeray will show his strength
On the other hand, the foundation day ceremony of Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) will be organized at Shanmukhananda Auditorium in Sion. According to sources, Uddhav Thackeray can speak openly in his address on the issue of rebel MPs and the alleged betrayal of the party.
It is being told that Thackeray will try to give this message to his workers that even if the leaders, MPs and MLAs leave the party, Shiv Sainiks and the general public are still standing with him.
After its establishment in 1966, Shiv Sena has faced divisions several times, but every time the party has emerged in a new form. In such a situation, the foundation day programs of both the groups are considered very important politically this time.
