Internal strife in Punjab Congress regarding appointments related to the organization seems to be increasing once again. According to sources, in separate meetings with district presidents, MLAs and former MLAs in Chandigarh, senior Congress leader and Punjab in-charge Bhupesh Baghel made it clear that there will be no change in the decisions of the party high command regarding the organization.
According to sources, Amarinder Singh Raja Vading will remain the state president of Punjab Congress. Also, senior leaders holding responsibilities of different committees within the organization are expected to work accordingly. It is being told that Baghel asked the leaders to strengthen the organization and move ahead with the party’s decisions.
Displeasure regarding king wedding
However, sources say that the group led by former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and senior leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa is unhappy with this decision. This group believes that Bhupesh Baghel failed to apprise the Congress high command about the real political situation of Punjab, due to which on their recommendation the decision was taken to keep Amarinder Singh Raja Wading as the state president.
Will Channi and Randhawa not meet Bhupesh Baghel?
According to sources, due to this resentment, many leaders of Channi-Randhawa faction are not willing to meet Bhupesh Baghel during his visit to Chandigarh. He feels that when the decision to retain the state president has already been taken, there is no special use in discussing the matter with Baghel now.
Channi-Randhawa group will meet Rahul Gandhi
It is being said that the Channi-Randhawa group is now making a strategy to present its views directly to the Congress high command and Rahul Gandhi. In such a situation, speculations are being made that before the Punjab Assembly elections, there may be a major reshuffle or something different in the Congress Party. However, the Congress party has not yet issued any official statement regarding these developments.
