PM Modi’s third visit to Australia, preparations for record welcome in Melbourne

There is tremendous enthusiasm among the Indian community living there regarding the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Australia. So far, around 30 thousand people have registered for the mega community program Melbourne Meets Modi to be organized in Melbourne on July 9. Preparations for the event are in full swing and it is being considered an important event in terms of India-Australia relations.

This community welcome ceremony is being organized by Australia India Foundation (AIF). The program is proposed at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne. AIF has started preparations for this program with the help of many Indian organizations present in Australia and local volunteers. The organization says that this event is an important initiative towards strengthening democratic values, economic cooperation and mutual respect between India and Australia.

This tour will take place between 9th and 10th July

According to sources, Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Australia is proposed between July 9 and 10. However, the detailed program has not been officially announced by the government yet. It is believed that this visit will be a part of the Prime Minister’s extensive foreign tour, which also includes Indonesia and New Zealand. Australia could be the last stop of this journey.

If the program goes as per plan, this will be Prime Minister Modi’s third visit to Australia. Before this he had visited Australia in 2014 and 2023. In the last few years, strategic, economic and defense cooperation between the two countries has continuously strengthened.

During the tour, Prime Minister Modi is also likely to hold bilateral talks with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Sydney. Both leaders can discuss issues related to trade, education, critical minerals, technology, defense cooperation and comprehensive strategic partnership.

The program will be held indoor due to winter

At the same time, the Melbourne Meets Modi program to be held in Melbourne is being considered the biggest public attraction of this entire tour. In view of the cold weather, a large indoor venue like Marvel Stadium has been selected, where the program can be organized in the presence of thousands of people. According to the organizers, apart from the Indian community, business and social organizations are also very enthusiastic about associating with Prime Minister Modi.
