
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting with secretaries of all ministries and departments of the Central Government at ‘Seva Tirtha’. In this long meeting which lasted for about four hours, mainly two topics were discussed. The first topic was to relax the rules and implement other reforms for ‘Ease of Doing Business’ (Ease of Doing Business) and ‘Ease of Living’ (Ease of Living). While the second topic was to promote ‘self-reliance’.
During the conversation, the Secretaries explained what important steps their ministries and departments are taking under these two subjects. He emphasized on the ongoing efforts to convert the Prime Minister’s vision into actual results. Additionally, they discussed sector-specific challenges and outlined future strategies to improve governance and service delivery. During this, PM Modi also emphasized on the goal of making India a developed country by 2047.
Promoting large scale use of ‘PM Gatishakti’
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of adopting a ‘whole-of-government’ approach and eliminating silos between departments. Underscoring the importance of integrated planning and coordination, he advocated widespread use of ‘PM Gatishakti’ as an effective platform to enhance coordination between departments and help in data-driven decision making. He asked the secretaries to pay attention to what real impact government schemes are having on people’s lives.
Target to make India a developed country by 2047
During the meeting, PM Modi set the target of making India a developed country by 2047. This will be the year when the country will celebrate the 100th anniversary of independence from British rule. He advised the Secretaries to focus on governance and implementation of schemes and ensure that there is no laxity or delay in government functioning, especially in citizen-related initiatives.
PM Modi had already told about the priorities of reforms for the next 10 years. He had said that his government’s ‘Reform Express’ has brought changes in the system and has greatly benefited the citizens.
