According to the report, this threat was given through a comment on a Facebook post related to the “Melbourne Meets Modi” program to be held in Melbourne. Taking the matter seriously, Australian security agencies have started investigation. However, no arrest has been confirmed yet. Threatening comment came on Facebook post
The alleged threat was made in the comments section of a Facebook post promoting the “Melbourne Meets Modi” event to be held on July 9 at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, The Australia Today reported. The report states that a Facebook account named “Abu Mustafa” wrote that the roof of the stadium should remain closed, otherwise Modi will come to Australia to die. After this post surfaced, security agencies have become active.
Australian agencies engaged in investigation
According to the report, investigating officers have identified the IP address associated with the alleged Facebook account and investigation into the matter is ongoing. The Australian Federal Police has not yet confirmed any arrests. The agency refused to provide further details on the investigation, saying that the matter was under investigation. However, according to the report, security agencies are taking this threat seriously and taking action.
PM Modi will be on Australia tour from 8 to 10 July
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a tour of Australia from 8 to 10 July. During this, he will participate in the India Australia Annual Leaders Summit held in Melbourne and will hold bilateral talks with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Apart from this, he will also address the Indian community in the program “Melbourne Meets Modi”. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese had earlier said that India is a major strategic and economic partner of Australia and he was honored to welcome Prime Minister Modi.
