PM Modi and Trump will meet in Paris, date and time fixed

June 14, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Amidst Middle-East tension and Hormuz crisis, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump will meet during the G7 summit to be held in France. This information has been given by senior officials of the White House. Senior officials said on Saturday that there can be talks between the two leaders on trade deal. He said that even if this deal is not finalized at that time, many technical issues will be discussed between India and America.

Senior American officials said that perhaps no deal would be finalized during their meeting, but technical talks would definitely be discussed. The official said, “I think there will be talks on a possible trade deal. We signed a Joint Framework Agreement earlier this year. For the last one year, we have been in very intensive talks with the Indians. A few weeks ago, a team from America went to India.

‘India’s approach is different from America’

The American official said that we had a good conversation with him. I myself will be going to India next week to see if we can move further on this deal. There has never been any trade deal between America and India before. Our economy works very differently. “There are a lot of data constraints in the Indian economy that make it difficult for our companies to do business.”

The official said that the deal will not be finalized during the meeting, but a lot of “technical discussions” will take place. He said, “I don’t think we will be able to get that deal done at the G7. I think we have to have more technical discussions. But it will be a good opportunity for the leaders to know where we are and how far they want to go in getting the deal done in the coming weeks.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for France on Saturday from New Delhi on his official tour. He will participate in the G7 summit and hold a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and will also make a state visit to Slovakia. This will be the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister after G7.
