
General Dheeraj Seth took charge as the 31st Army Chief and during this he thanked Prime Minister Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who expressed confidence in him. He talked about feeling proud and responsible on assuming the post of Chief of the Indian Army. He also paid tribute to all the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country and said that the Indian Army is fully prepared and can face any threat or challenge. Apart from this, special emphasis was also laid on further modernizing the army and adopting new technologies and aimed to create a technology-equipped and strong army for future challenges.
Army Chief General Dheeraj Seth said the Indian Army will modernize to prepare itself for future conflicts. Apart from this, he also told his priorities in the form of ‘VIJAY’, which includes five things.
V – Vigilance
- The borders will be constantly monitored.
- The army will be kept ready for war at all times.
I – Innovation and Transformation
- New technologies and new ideas will be promoted.
- Changes will be made in the army according to the needs of modern warfare.
J – Jointness and Integration
- Better coordination will be improved between the Army, Air Force and Navy.
- Work will be done jointly with all government and civil institutions in national security.
A – Atmanirbharta (self-reliance)
- Emphasis will be laid on the use of indigenous weapons, equipment and technologies.
- The goal will be that India wins the war on the basis of its own solutions.
Y – Yodha First
- The interests of all the soldiers, from Agniveer to ex-servicemen, will be taken care of.
- Training, technical capability and welfare of soldiers will be given priority.
- Special attention will also be given to honoring and empowering ex-servicemen and brave women.
- Respectfully remembered the contribution of General Upendra Dwivedi and all former army chiefs.
- Assured the countrymen that the Indian Army will always be ready to protect the country’s sovereignty, borders and national interests.
- Told the basic mantra of his vision – JAI to VIJAY (Jai to Vijay)
