Petrol Diesel Price Today: Today, on the morning of Friday, May 22, there is relief news for the common man going to office or work. There is no new change in the prices of petrol and diesel across the country today. The prices remain completely stable. However, looking at the market situation, nothing can be said clearly on how long this peace will last. The deteriorating financial condition of oil distribution companies, which are continuously suffering losses, is indicating that there may be a rise in fuel prices in the coming days.
Huge losses of oil companies are increasing the tension of the common man.
The financial condition of Indian oil marketing companies is under great pressure at present. At present, companies are forced to sell petrol, diesel as well as domestic LPG cylinders at prices much lower than their actual cost. This is having a direct impact on the balance sheets of companies. According to statistics, these companies were facing huge losses of about Rs 1,380 crore every day. Recently, when fuel prices were increased by Rs 3 per liter, this daily loss reduced slightly. Despite this, companies are still incurring a net loss of around Rs 750 crore every day. Economists believe that new rates can be implemented at any time to compensate for this loss.
Inflation shock has already occurred in the beginning of the week
The general public has already got a dose of inflation in the beginning of this week. This week, petrol prices were increased by 87 paise per litre. At the same time, an increase of 91 paise per liter was recorded in the price of diesel. After this recent increase, fuel rates across the country have remained at their new record level. In such a situation, if companies decide to increase prices once again to reduce their losses, then its impact will extend from freight transportation to inflation of everyday essentials.
