Global oil prices rise due to war
Rajya Sabha Secretariat said that the members of the committee will discuss the impact of the West Asia crisis on India’s maritime trade, shipping infrastructure and safety of seafarers. India’s maritime trade, especially the energy sector, has been badly hit since the West Asia war broke out on February 28 this year, disrupting the movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz. A large part of India’s fuel supply came from Gulf and West Asian countries. Due to this war, global oil prices have also increased.
