Amidst the ongoing protests and increasing public dissatisfaction in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK), the Pakistan government and the ruling Pakistan People’s Party are once again in the news for glorifying terrorists. A public program is being organized in Karachi on Tuesday on the death anniversary of slain Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani, in which a large number of people have been appealed to participate.
According to the information, this program will be held at Arts Council, Karachi at 4:30 pm. In the posters issued by Pakistan People’s Party, people have been appealed to come in large numbers and pay tribute to Burhan Wani. The program is being organized in collaboration with Pakistan Peoples Party and through this, an attempt is once again being made to push the anti-India and pro-Burhan Wani narrative.

District President of Pakistan People’s Party Liaqat Ali said that every year a rally is organized on July 8 on the death anniversary of Burhan Wani and this year also the rally will be organized in Karachi. This rally has been called by All Jammu and Kashmir Hurriyat Conference. Appealing to the party workers to participate in large numbers, he said that flags of Pakistan and Kashmir will also be waved in the rally.
Here, on the letter written by the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) in PoK to the Pakistan Army Chief, former Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir S.P. Vaid has responded. He said that JAAC has written the truth in its letter. According to him, many such videos have surfaced on social media, in which force is seen being used on peaceful protesters.

S. P. Vaid alleged that Pakistan Army is not interested in talks, but wants to suppress the voice of the people of PoK by force. Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir realizes that just as dissatisfaction is increasing in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, similarly people’s opposition is increasing in PoK too. The people of PoK have exposed to the world the reality of the so-called “Azad Kashmir” claim and in reality Azad Kashmir is India’s Jammu and Kashmir.
On one hand, Pakistan has been trying to raise the Kashmir issue on international forums, on the other hand, questions have been raised on it regarding public glorification of faces associated with terrorism and action against the voices of protest in PoK. At such a time, this program in Karachi and the ongoing protests in PoK can spark a new debate on Pakistan’s dual policy.
