The condition of Pakistan has become like that of a player who is losing on the field and is also roaming around with complaints in front of the umpire. On one hand, Pakistan is going to the door of the United Nations Security Council and pleading against India regarding the Indus Water Treaty, while on the other hand, in the United Nations Human Rights Council, India has exposed the atrocities taking place in Pakistan occupied Kashmir i.e. POK to such an extent that Islamabad is left with no answer. That is, Pakistan is currently worried on all four sides on the double front and this fear is there from the common people to the ministers. Read this report.
In fact, after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, India taught Pakistan a lesson which it can never forget. On the night of 7 May 2025, the Indian Air Force destroyed more than 9 terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and POK with BrahMos, Rafale and multi-domain strikes. Hundreds of terrorists were killed in just 23 minutes. After this, the Pakistani air base was also attacked and its air power was crushed. Not only this, India suspended the 65 year old Indus Water Treaty and since then the uneasiness in Pakistan kept increasing.
Ishaq Dar complained to UNSC
Now Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has written a letter to the United Nations Security Council complaining. In this letter, Ishaq Dar has written that India is interfering in the flow of rivers, due to which less water is reaching the Pakistani part. India is building projects on the Chenab River, which will jeopardize Pakistan’s water security, food security and economic security.
The question is why Pakistan suddenly started worrying so much about water. Because it knows that a large part of its agricultural system depends on the water of those rivers whose source is in India. For decades, Pakistan used terrorism as a strategic weapon, but now when India is giving priority to its interests, Islamabad is remembering international forums.
‘India is turning water into a weapon’
Pakistan’s Ambassador to UN Iftikhar Ahmed called India’s projects illegal and even alleged that India is weaponizing water, but the world also knows which country has been making terrorism a part of its foreign policy for decades. Will Pakistan, which calls water a weapon, ever tell how much damage it has caused to the entire region by using terrorism as a weapon?
India’s befitting reply on the issue of Indus Water Treaty
On the issue of Indus Water Treaty, Anupama Singh, First Secretary of India’s Permanent Mission to the UN, showed a mirror to Pakistan. He said, ‘Our stand on the Indus Water Treaty is well known. It is beyond reason that a country that exports terrorism as a policy should continue to demand the privileges of cooperation based on goodwill and friendship. The Indus Water Treaty is now outdated, no technical system can remain stable with time.
Pakistan was crying for water
At the same time, Ishaq Dar is now roaming around the world accusing India of so-called hydro-hegemony. He claims that India wants to transform the Indus river system through 17 projects. But the problem of Pakistan before the world is that its credibility has continuously weakened.
‘Those asking for bread in POK are getting bullets…’
On the other hand, when Pakistan was crying for water in front of the world, at the same time in the United Nations Human Rights Council, India presented the reality of Pakistan occupied Kashmir in front of the world. India’s First Secretary Anupama Singh clearly said that those asking for bread in POK are getting bullets.
Anupama Singh said, ‘Jammu and Kashmir was, is and will always be an integral and inseparable part of India. The only unresolved issue is Pakistan’s illegal occupation of Indian territories and their return. Pakistan’s propaganda cannot hide the truth of the oppression taking place in Pakistan’s illegally occupied Kashmir. The ongoing tragedy in Rawalakot, the killing of hundreds of civilians and the brutal actions taken in Pakistan’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir are the results of a system created through forceful occupation and repression.
India mentioned the incidents of Rawalakot
India referred to the incidents of Rawalakot, where the news of action on protesters has raised serious questions.. Anupama Singh said that the brutal action on hundreds of common people, forcible occupation and the policy of repression is the result of the system that Pakistan has created in POK. He said, ‘This is a country where the current Defense Minister openly declares the policy of harboring, training and deploying terrorist bases. Yet Pakistan calls itself a victim of terrorism. This is a contradiction that only Pakistan can maintain. This is a living example of a Frankenstein state which is surprised by the counterattack of its own monster.
OIC was also taken to task
Not only this, India also took the Organization of Islamic Cooperation i.e. OIC to task and said that Pakistan is using this platform for its propaganda. It is clear that Pakistan’s strategy is now being exposed in front of the world. On one hand, the plea for water in UNSC, on the other hand, Pakistan is standing in the dock on human rights in UNHRC. On one hand, efforts to encircle India, on the other hand, public anger in POK. Today Pakistan has to understand that problems are not solved just by taking complaints to international forums. First you have to improve the conditions at home. India’s message is very clear. Terrorism will not be tolerated. There will be no compromise with national interests.
