Pakistani mobile network found in Jammu and Kashmir… Security agencies alert

June 27, 2026 by Uma Shankar

The concern of security agencies has increased due to the receipt of signals of Pakistani mobile network inside the Indian territory near the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir. According to security sources, signals of Pakistan’s 2G and 4G mobile networks have been recorded deep inside the border in Jammu sector.

Agencies fear that these networks can be used by infiltrating terrorists and their overground workers (OGWs) to escape the surveillance of Indian security agencies. It is believed that through Pakistani networks they can try to maintain contact with each other and coordinate their activities.

Security agencies have increased electronic surveillance and technical monitoring in the areas adjacent to the border. The reach of the mobile network, signal strength and its possible misuse are being investigated. Along with this, the security forces deployed on the border have also been instructed to remain alert.

How did Pakistani network reach India?

Sources say that this matter is related to national security and it is also being investigated how the Pakistani mobile network is reaching such a distance inside the Indian territory. Joint teams of technical experts and security agencies are busy investigating the entire matter.

Keep a close eye on suspicious activity

Security agencies believe that any suspicious activity taking place from across the border is being closely monitored and if any concrete evidence is found that this network is being used for terrorist activities, then further action will be taken accordingly. At present, surveillance and security arrangements have been further strengthened in the entire border area.

Which areas are covered by Pakistani mobile networks?

Signals of Pakistani mobile networks (like Jazz, Zong, Telenor etc.) are clearly received in border districts like Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch and Samba. Terrorists and those directing them from across the border are said to use these signals for encrypted communications (such as YSMS technology) without leaving any digital trace.
