Pakistan was ahead in making the deal, now there is complete silence when the agreement is broken…what is the reason?

July 8, 2026 by Uma Shankar

US President Donald Trump has given such a statement in the Turkish capital Ankara, which has created a stir in the entire world. While talking to the media, Trump said that he believes that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Iran has now ended. After the recent developments, this agreement between the two countries has no importance anymore. Dealing with Iran is just a waste of time.

Pakistan is facing the most trouble due to the breaking of ceasefire between Iran and America. In fact, the purpose of the interim ceasefire agreement between Washington and Tehran brokered by Pakistan was to give 60 days time for negotiations for a permanent agreement. But the indirect talks in Qatar ended without any result last week. On Tuesday, July 07, America broke the ceasefire and attacked Iran.

Can the war start once again?

First of all, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Tuesday attacked oil and two gas tankers of Saudi Arabia and Qatar near the Strait of Hormuz by firing missiles. Then in retaliation, America launched rapid attacks on Iran. Then, now Donald Trump has announced the breakdown of the agreement. In such a situation, if the war escalates once again, the world may face major difficulties on the economic front.

Pakistan had taken a lot of credit for the Iran-America agreement

Pakistan had taken a lot of credit for the agreement between America and Iran. From Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to his government ministers, many had posted on social media regarding this. He recited ode after ode in praise of himself. But now that the agreement between Iran and America seems to be breaking down, Pakistan is completely silent.

Questions on the role of Pakistan’s mediator also

The biggest question is regarding Pakistan’s status in the agreement between Iran and America. Iran attacked oil tankers of Saudi Arabia and Qatar. But not a single word came out against it from Pakistan, which was playing the role of mediator. At the same time, now that America has broken the agreement, Pakistan, buried under the favors of the United States, cannot speak out.

What is the reason for Pakistan’s silence on the breakdown of the agreement?

Actually, Pakistan cannot speak against America’s attacks because it wants its economic cooperation with the United States. At the same time, he is refraining from speaking against the attacks carried out by Iran because he wants border security and energy cooperation with Iran to continue. Secondly, Iran is considered an Islamic nation. Pakistan is also an Islamic nation. In such a situation, he does not want to face criticism from his people by going against Iran. Apart from this, Iran is an important ally of China. It does not want to anger China by going against Iran, otherwise it may suffer huge losses economically.
