Often we think that people whose salary runs into crores and who own many houses, would have no shortage of money in their life. Viral story of an IITian client and CA

Chartered Accountant (CA) Pratibha Goyal has shared such a story of one of her clients on social media platform X (earlier Twitter), which has created a stir on the internet. Recently he filed the ITR of a young IIT graduate who has been earning more than Rs 1 crore every year for the last 5 years. Apart from earning big money, he also has three houses. Two of these are under construction. Obviously, seeing such huge income and property, you would be thinking that brother must have a lot of money. But the real drama started when the turn came to file ITR.

Had to ask for a loan of Rs 15,000!

When CA Pratibha asked the client to pay the remaining tax of Rs 15,000, he said that he did not have the cash right now, so the ITR filing should be postponed till August, so that he could make the payment when the next salary comes. But when CA explained that after the deadline, huge interest and penalty would have to be paid, the IITian was forced to borrow Rs 15,000 from someone to avoid the penalty.
