Our control on Hormuz will remain for 30 days, if we interfere, tension will increase… Trump bluntly scolds Iran

June 28, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Sunday that the Strait of Hormuz will remain completely under Iran’s control for the next 30 days. He warned that any interference or unilateral action would delay its reopening. “The Strait of Hormuz will remain completely under Iranian supervision and management for the next 30 days, and the full capacity of the waterway will be restored after all blockages are removed,” Araghchi said at a joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart in Baghdad.

According to the AFP report, he further said, “This responsibility lies with the Islamic Republic of Iran. There is no other party or country in this matter. This is completely clear under the Memorandum of Understanding and any interference or unilateral action will worsen the situation and will also delay the reopening of the strait.”

Foreign Minister of Iran Abbas Araghchi Has demanded the creation of a regional security framework involving the Gulf countries after Iran’s retaliatory attacks on US military bases in the Middle East.

Araghchi demanded to create a new framework

Araghchi said, we should create a new framework in which all the countries of the region are included and in which there is no presence or interference of any country outside the region.

Araghchi warned on Sunday that any attempt to challenge Iran’s control over the strategic Hormuz Strait would increase tensions, even as efforts continue to ensure peace in the Middle East.

Araghchi said, any attempt to adopt new or different arrangements compared to what the Islamic Republic of Iran is doing, will only create more difficult situations and delay the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and increase tensions, as we saw over the past two nights.

America should fulfill its responsibility

Araghchi said that all the rules of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the US should be implemented, including those related to Lebanon.

Sadly, Zionist organizations are continuing air strikes on Lebanon, Araghchi said, adding that Israel has also accepted the MoU.

He said that Washington should fulfill its responsibility and force Israel to stop attacks on Lebanon to end the war.

America should put pressure on Israel

Araghchi also asked the US to put pressure on Israel to withdraw from the areas of Lebanon it still occupies. He said, this was the first clause of the MoU.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said on Sunday that Iraq does not support escalating the war in the Gulf and is against attacks on Iran. “It is regrettable that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as a neighboring country, has become the target of war and attack,” Hussein said at a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart in Baghdad.
