During this, Gaurav Gera told that there was a time when there used to be only Rs 84 in his bank account.

Gaurav Gera’s difficult days

Gaurav Gera said, “No one from my family was into films. No one from my family has any connection with the film industry. I had arts in school so I joined the fashion academy. But then I felt that this is not what I want to do. After this, I worked for half a year and joined theatre. My father is an engineer from IIT-BHU and brother is a software engineer. But nothing was ever imposed on me. I am thankful for this.”

used to bow before the bank

Talking about the financial struggle, Gaurav Gera said, “I had only Rs 84 in my account. I used to pass in front of HDFC Bank and on seeing the bank, it would say take care of me. I used to go to the bank with my head bowed while coming. I still have my father’s salary letters, where it was written – I am sending Rs 2000, not more than that. At that time I felt that there is no problem. If there is no money then go by auto, come on foot.” I was a selfish type, I wanted to be a giver, not a taker.
