Check the website URL first

Pay attention to the padlock icon
The lock symbol that appears in the address bar of a website (Padlock) indicates that the connection is secure. If this mark is not visible, then you should avoid entering bank details, password or any personal information on that website. This is an easy way by which you can keep yourself safe.
Be cautious of pop-ups and suspicious offers
Many pop-up advertisements and attractive offers are often shown on fake websites. Like free gift, lucky draw, or limited time offer. Many times the user is pressurized to click quickly. If you get such signs, you should immediately be alert because this could be a method of fraud.
Also check website information
Any reliable website definitely has an About Us and Contact Us section. The company’s address, email and phone number are given here. If this information is not available or seems incomplete, then it is better to stay away from that website.
avoid false offers
Experts say that offers like job in one click, free laptop or expensive goods at very low prices are often part of fraud. One should not immediately trust such greedy offers. By adopting these simple precautions, you can avoid online fraud and ensure safe internet usage.
